My Counseling Approach

String of small international flags hanging in an alleyway next to brick and concrete walls, with old-fashioned security lights and equipment visible.

My practice is grounded in Family Systems Theory, which views challenges—whether in relationships, personal struggles, or patterns of behavior—within the broader system of family and community. This approach encourages movement away from blame and toward personal responsibility and growth.

I integrate evidence-based methods such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): for understanding and reshaping thoughts and behaviors.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): for processing and healing from trauma.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): for building flexibility and living with greater meaning and purpose.

I also uphold the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics, prioritizing dignity, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and collaborative care.
